Update On Our Safety and Quality Programs
Safety
The newly formed McGill Safety Team held its first meeting in December, 2009. Their first priority will
be to review current safety measures at our facility and make recommendations that will enhance our employees’ safety awareness. The Safety Team will conduct monthly safety walks through the warehouse and office areas, looking for opportunities to reinforce safety policies.
Quality
Larry Vincent recently joined us as Director of Quality and Operations. Larry has already begun studying our existing quality procedures, and he will update McGill’s Quality Manual and procedures to comply with the latest ISO 9002 standards.
Our Quality Program has already begun to evolve to include additional quality reporting. For example, all product returns are reported through the Quality Manager as RMAs (Return Material Authorizations). Also in place are policies for enhanced final inspection of all assemblies, for testing when needed and for providing certificates of conformance.
Other improvements include new incoming inspection procedures to ensure the quality of incoming product and better product traceability methods throughout our processes. Additionally, a Quality Team will be formed to review all current work instructions at McGill, from order entry through final shipment.
Everyone at McGill has embraced our commitment to improving quality. We are looking forward to an exciting 2010!
